Admittedly, it has been a while since my last blog post. I will be the first to admit I am not much into blogs and have to remind myself to be diligent about posting. J Since my last post we have hosted 7 more weddings! Including one in the aftermath of the Derecho of 2012! Each bride and groom has been lovely to work with. We have one more wedding in August before we launch into non-stop weddings starting in September and running through November!

One of the many details I strive to provide to my couples is a flawless event. I think the bride and groom should be focused on enjoying their day and not worry about the minor details. My staff has been an important part of The Trivium’s success and I cannot commend them enough for their professionalism and ability to act quickly in situations. It is because of them and our desire to provide the BEST in customer service that we continue to be awarded 5 out of 5 ratings from our brides! Check out our ratings on www.weddingwire.com.

As we continue on in this wedding season, we will continue to provide our bride and groom’s with far superior customer service. In the coming months on the blog I hope to begin adding posts about wedding trends and may even convince some of my Trivium helpers to dive in and help.

Wedding Season!

It’s been a while since my last post but, in my defense wedding season has started so things are a bit busy around here.

We have had a lot of upgrades around The Trivium in the last month. Our pond size gazebo was completed as well as the landscaping around it. Then we decided that we wanted it to look even more amazing so we added a second fountain. Always thinking of the customer, we also purchased a large golf cart to help transport elderly and the bride down to the pond site.

In addition to our pond site completetion,we also added a stone path from the ballroom around the garden to the Pergola ceremony site. Now your guests won’t sink into the grass on the way to their seats. We are also near completion on upgrading the ballroom to hardwood flooring. It is looking amazing, what a difference it makes in the overall look of the room!

We continue to add and manage The Trivium property to make sure it looks the best. Although, we are pretty booked for the Summer and Fall we do still have some dates open so don’t hesistate to call or e-mail us!

As I give tours I get a lot of the same questions from people and decided I should post a Frequently Asked Question post. Here you go.

How many people can you accommodate?

Our indoor ballroom can accommodate 150 for a seated dinner or 200 for a buffet style with floating tables. However, we have 11 acres and plenty of space for tenting. So if you are interested in more than 200+ people you do have the outdoor option.

What’s included with your reception?

- Four hours of event time

- Tables for up to 150 people and catering tables

- Gold chivari chairs and white cushions for up to 150 people

- White or black tablecloths and napkins

- Up to 4 votive candles per table

- Use of our piano

Can you host a rehearsal dinner?

Absolutely! Our estate dining room can seat 20 people. If you have more than 20, we also rent the ballroom for rehearsal dinners. We have also had more brides interested in outdoor rehearsal dinners and can set up for that.

Do you have overnight accommodations for the bride and groom?

Unfortunately, we do not offer overnight accommodations but we can make some great recommendations for local bed and breakfast or hotels.

If we sign a contract and decided after to add one of your extras is that possible?

Of course! If you are unsure of whether you want to rent our china or photo booth and wish to add it after you contract has been signed, we are more than happy to do that for you.

Do you allow dogs?

We do allow dogs to be a part of your ceremony however, we do have restrictions that include:

- Dogs are not allowed in the main areas of the house or ballroom, we have a sunroom (that is temperature controlled) that dogs must be kept in.

- It is the clients responsibility to have someone to handle the dog

- The dog must be removed from the property within an hour after the ceremony

- The client is responsible for any accidents or damage caused by the dog

I am sure we add to this list but, this seems like a good start. We are looking forward to our upcoming 2012 wedding season!

Children’s Birthday Parties

When most people think of The Trivium, their immediate thought is wedding but, weddings are not all we do at The Trivium. Our venue is happy to host a number of events from bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, to reunions, and corporate functions.

Above are some photos of a Rock Star Theme 5th Birthday we hosted. The little girl wanted instruments and a microphone so we used the stage for her mini band and set the tables in a cool black and hot pink theme. One of my personal favorite parts of this birthday was the little girl’s reaction to her birthday party all set up!

Pond Side Gazebo

I am so excited to show off what our new pond side gazebo will look like. This is not an inspiration photo, this is what the gazebo will look like and its location on our pond. Construction has be completed on the path down to the pond and construction for the gazebo will begin soon. We hope to have this ceremony site ready for Spring/Summer weddings in 2012! If you or someone you know is interested in a water side ceremony give us a call!

Lynchburg’s Best of 2011

I learned tonight that The Trivium was voted number 3 for Lynchburg Livings Best of Lynchburg 2011 for wedding venues! Hooray! Not bad considering we only officially opened in September! Thank you to everyone who voted! Of course, now my goal is to be #1 for 2012. Those who know me well know I always get what I want. So for 2012 I will be working my booty off to make sure The Trivium becomes THE BEST venue in the Lynchburg area. No offense to my competition. Stay tuned because tomorrow I will be unveiling what our pond side gazebo will look like!

Hello world!

Well, I finally caved in and created a blog. I decided that with all the news The Trivium has coming that I needed a proper place to display these announcements.

First, off I want to thank everyone for a successful 2011! We officially opened our doors September 18, 2011 and have been busy ever since. We celebrated with 4 couples who were married at the Estate in 2011 since our opening and look forward to the weddings we have in 2012. We also hosted a charity event, bridal shower, and baby showers! In addition, we had a successful first corporate event and hope to book more corporate meetings/events in 2012!
